The Pentastar would be better if they had more Jews engineering it tbqphf

They are probably talking about the pile of junk 4.0 that was in the grand caravan and routan.

They’d have to change the name to hexastar.

What movies has Vince Vaughn done lately?

whoa, whoa, whoa - I believe it was the Italians that made that decision; credit where credit is due. (And Pentastar isn’t terrible - assuming you are not in a Jeep.) Unless you bought a Routan and then you are just lame.

I’ve owned both and the Pentastar is better.

It’s a movie about a guy who loved peace so much he wouldn’t fight fascism.

That’s not saying the 4.0 isn’t great

This 4.0L, yes.
This 4.0L, never.

let’s be honest here. the 4.0 gets its reputation because it was a low-powered, barely-stressed wheezer of an engine. It wasn’t particularly powerful, nor did it have “awesome torque” like everyone who doesn’t understand things assumes straight sixes do. it had less power and torque than the minivan 3.8 V6 which replaced it in the Wrangler.
it’s low power (and lack of stress) is what led to its longevity, but I can tell you from experience once they get much over 100,000 miles cylinder taper will increase blow-by substantially, with high oil consumption and wet air filters to follow. a compression test won’t tell you if an engine has tapered cylinders, you need to do a leak-down test. the upside is they’ll still run forever so long as you keep your eye on the oil level.

Pentastar is better for MPG, 4.0 is better for reliability and overall torque
